Aluminium Guttering For Hospitals

Aluminium Guttering For Hospitals

Since February 2023, leaks have been causing UK hospitals a plethora of problems as the backlog in repairs and maintenance continues to grow. This disrepair has led to critically ill patients being moved due to rainfall coming through the ceiling, patients slipping on sewage, staff becoming ill and leaks in A&E departments, cancer wards and maternity units.

As such an integral part of the UK healthcare system, it is crucial that our hospitals, healthcare facilities, and other NHS buildings have a gutter system in place that they can rely on. This is where InterCounty comes in.

Since the 1980s, our committed team of aluminium specialists has been manufacturing, supplying and installing an all-encompassing range of innovative rainwater drainage solutions, designed to protect buildings of any size or sector, against leaks and rainwater damage all year round.

Seamless Aluminium Guttering

Here at InterCounty, Seamless Aluminium Guttering is our bread and butter. Introduced to the UK by our founder, Jerry Willock, in 1982 – seamless aluminium gutters continue to answer the same strong demand for low-maintenance property solutions that was expressed by consumers in the 1980s.

Offering a gutter system you can depend on, seamless aluminium gutters have a life expectancy of over 30 years – backed up by the first ever installations we carried out on Knowle Street, in Stalybridge, still going strong after 30+ years of use! With no joints in the running length, our BBA approved aluminium coil is able to resist even the worst of weather conditions, as well as protect against corrosion.

Fabricated to your unique measurements, our team of manufacturers use a specialist mobile rolling machine to shape our seamless gutters into a product that suits your needs.

Sectional Aluminium Guttering For Hospitals

Hospitals that are due to be refurbished or renovated would benefit massively from our huge selection of Sectional Aluminium Guttering

This range is virtually zero-maintenance – installed in no time, but lasting you for life. Fully interchangeable with existing gutters of a similar section, our sectional rain gutters don’t only make installation a breeze, but they will also provide extra high flow capacities to protect your hospital building from leaks and rainwater damage for years to come.

Available in eight different profiles, ranging from ogee aluminium guttering to half round rain gutters, our wide range of sectional aluminium guttering is sure to provide a flawless rainwater drainage solution for any healthcare facility.

Ogee Aluminium Guttering

Available in three different architectural styles, our deep, broad Ogee design has around three times the flow capacity of a conventional half round domestic plastic gutter.

  • Victorian Ogee Guttering – The ideal solution for refurbishment and renovation projects, this range is fully interchangeable with existing gutters of a similar section. Based on an aluminium copy of the 19th century Victorian cast iron profile.
  • Special Moulded Ogee Guttering – A special cast aluminium profile designed with traditional spigot fixings, offering a high flow capacity.
  • Moulded Ogee Guttering – An extruded aluminium copy of one of the oldest gutter designs – Pattern 46. Offering a high flow capacity, our Moulded Ogee Guttering is designed for large commercial and industrial projects.

Half Round Aluminium Guttering

The perfect answer to refurbishment projects and new-build developments that need a new guttering system, our Half Round Aluminium Guttering is fully interchangeable with existing gutters of a similar section and is available in four nominal widths:

  • 100mm
  • 113mm
  • 125mm
  • 150mm

All gutter lengths and angles are supplied with one left-hand cast-on socket (as viewed from the front) and all outlets are supplied with two cast-on sockets.

As well as the standard half round configuration, we also offer beaded, deep flow extruded and deep flow cast options:

Box Profiled Aluminium Guttering

Adeptly fabricated using the best-of-the-best profiled aluminium sheet, our Box Profiled Aluminium Guttering is suitable for direct fix at 600mm centres, or for fascia bracket fixing at a maximum of 900mm centres. But, our experienced team of specialists would recommend that you use direct fixings for additional support when using fascia brackets – especially for larger profile sizes.

Expansion coefficients are also incorporated into the box profiled design and additional fixings are recommended near cross bracings.

If your project requires a bespoke touch, there’s no need to worry. Our specialist manufacturers can cater to standalone measurements.

Architectural Aluminium For Hospitals

As well as our seamless and sectional aluminium gutters, we also offer a diverse selection of Architectural Aluminium, including:

  • Technical rainwater and roofline systems for buildings
  • Valley and boundary gutters
  • Wall cappings – Creates a watertight seal when combined with the waterproofing of your roof. Protects against leaks while adding a decorative, bespoke aluminium detail to the tops of your parapet or perimeter walls.
  • Rainscreen cladding – Offers aesthetic appeal to the structural columns of your building, which can be powder-coated in any RAL colour of your choice (just like all of our products!)
  • Fascias – Helping to anchor your gutter system to your property, fascia supports the weight of your gutters and downpipes, while covering the rafters and trusses to add aesthetic appeal to the exterior of your premises.
  • Soffits – The finishing touch to any rainwater system, soffits are the panelling that run beneath the eaves of your roof in order to protect its rafters from the elements (e.g. rain, snow, direct sunlight, etc.)
  • Drainage channels

Aluminium Downpipes

Compatible with our wide range of aluminium gutters, we also offer three different types of Aluminium Downpipes. Downpipes are designed to transport rainwater away from your gutters and into a drainage system.

  • Cast Collared Downpipes – Available in round, square and rectangular configurations, this range has a collared style diecast socket with double rings, that are factory fitted to each extruded length. Comes with or without fixing ears.
  • Aluminium Pipes with Swaged Joints – Extruded aluminium pipes with a swaged jointing system and separate wall fixing brackets.
  • Vandal Resistant Pipes – Eliminates the need to install expensive brick recesses by protecting your downpipes from vandalism more effectively. Designed for buildings susceptible to vandalism, e.g. schools, prisons, hospitals, etc.

Aluminium Hopper Heads

A true all-rounder product, our Aluminium Hopper Heads are designed to match with round, square or rectangular systems.

Functional considerations are taken into account with hopper heads that are suitable for a range of light to heavy duties.
